Ex-Times editor is ‘Merchant of Plagiarism,’ but don’t worry, she’s taking care of the problem!

Former New York Times editor Jill Abramson is sorry that her book “Merchants of Truth” contains plagiarized passages from other reporters, as well as gross inaccuracies, but she is not changing the title to more accurately reflect her role as a “Merchant of Lies.”

At the very least she ought to consider changing the subtitle so that it no longer refers to “The Fight for Facts” since Abramson already lost that fight.

I guess this is the latest instance of elite entitlement as well as liberal hypocrisy. It is also a delightful instance of karma being a bitch. She joins race-baiting Gov. Ralph Northam as the latest example of how dangerous it is to judge others when you have no judgment yourself! Northam, of course, called his gubernatorial opponent Ed Gillespie a racist with no evidence but now has been exposed as someone who himself has a history of racial insensitivity.

As for Abramson, she is grateful for being told her book is full of errors and instances of plagiarism. She told her former paper:

“I was up all night going through my book because I take these claims of plagiarism so seriously,” she said in a statement issued by the book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster. “I tried above all to accurately and properly give attribution to the many hundreds of sources that were part of my research.”

She added: “The notes don’t match up with the right pages in a few cases and this was unintentional and will be promptly corrected. The language is too close in some cases and should have been cited as quotations in the text. This, too, will be fixed.”

Thanks, Jill. That seems like pretty standard practice for purveyors of Fake News. “Correct when caught.”

The plagiarism is bad enough, but multiple people Abramson wrote about in the book say she made up multiple facts about them. They are so numerous, I won’t try to catalog them. The Splinter website has a report that lists many of the errors if you wish to be astounded.

Suffice it to say that if any reporter who worked for me had made the errors in fact and plagiarism that were made by Abramson, he or she would have been disciplined and very likely terminated. They certainly would not be in a position to make hundreds of thousands of dollars like Abramson, but maybe that’s what makes the elites different from you and me.
