As many of you know, I was a sworn enemy of Fake News long before President Trump popularized the term. I have now collected nearly 100 of my best columns about deception and bias in the Mainstream Media in my new book, “The Media Matrix: What If Everything You Know Is Fake.”

Leave it to the mainstream media. Whenever I despair that I may not be able to think of a topic for the next week’s column, I can always count on some reporter in Washington, D.C., or New York to do something boneheaded.
This week, I got lucky. The mainstream media went into a near-fatal frenzy of arrogance. It was like the march of the liberal lemmings into the Sarcastic Sea. Everywhere I turned there was one more example of self-important big city know-it-alls exercising their god-given right to look down their noses at the rest of us. And this doesn’t even count the nightly sniveling of the sophomoric Keith Olbermann on MSNBC.
So for at least the next two weeks, I’m going to take a look at some representatives of the mainstream media who apparently think the main stream is veering ever leftward, and that they are obliged to enlighten us about the dangers of the Neanderthal right.
As you can see, I am no newcomer to dragging the left-wing media poobahs across the coals. My 34 years as a community journalist at the Daily Inter Lake in Kalispell, Montana, gave me the perspective to filter the Fake News promoted by the Mainstream Media to get to the real story. In “The Media Matrix,” you can read about biased reporting on a variety of topics such as “natural born citizenship,” “the war on terrorism,” “border security,” and “Russian collusion.”
The foreword was written by Brant Horn, who was circulation director at the Daily Inter Lake for most of the years when I was managing editor. He describes the challenges I encountered presenting a fair and balanced news report even while writing conservative commentary under my own name for many years. The afterword by economist Richard L. Spencer is the introduction to the entire Heartland Diary USA series. To guard my humility, I won’t quote him, but trust me he says some really nice things about me.
