GOP Senate betrays DJT — and the country— again

The Republican Party has once again proven itself to be an inadequate ally for President Trump as he does battle with the progressive agenda to destroy the United States of America.

Inadequate? Let’s be blunt. The party leadership in Congress is treasonous.

How exactly can the Republican controlled Senate vote to overturn the president’s emergency declaration to protect our citizens from the invasion on the southern border?

There are only three explanations — one, they are evil; two, they are stupid; or three, they are putting politics ahead of national interest. It is hard to know which of these excuses is more vile.

So here are the names of the Republican senators who have said they prefer the Democratic strategy of open borders rather than the president’s insistence on a wall:

  • Sen. Mitt Romney, Utah
  • Sen. Mike Lee, Utah
  • Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky
  • Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Alaska
  • Sen. Susan Collins, Maine
  • Sen. Roy Blunt, Missouri
  • Sen. Lamar Alexander, Tennessee
  • Sen. Pat Toomey, Pennsylvania
  • Sen. Jerry Moran (who?), Kansas
  • Sen. Rob Portman, Ohio
  • Sen. Roger Wicker, Mississippi
  • Sen. Marco Rubio, Florida (et tu, Marco?)

These senators are despicable and need to be held to account. (Good news: N.C. Sen. Thom Tillis changed his mind at last minute and voted with President Trump.)

As always, President Trump said it best.

Yesterday on Twitter:

“Republican Senators are overthinking tomorrow’s vote on National Emergency. It is very simply Border Security/No Crime – Should not be thought of any other way. We have a MAJOR NATIONAL EMERGENCY at our Border and the People of our Country know it very well!”

And just this morning:

“A vote for today’s resolution by Republican Senators is a vote for Nancy Pelosi, Crime, and the Open Border Democrats!”

President Trump will veto the attempt to halt his emergency declaration. God bless him for standing strong and exposing the fools in the Republican Party and the evil in the Democrat Party.

  1. It’s my understanding that Rand Paul actually supports use of emergency declaration in this case, however, feels it sets a dangerous precedent for abuse. It’s also my understanding that Trump’s predecessor used the emergency declaration to fund other countries at least a dozen times, in which case, Paul’s concerns are the proverbial day late, dollar short.

    1. The constitutional argument is full of homes. The law exists and Trump used it to protect national security. What else do you need to know, Rand?
