Haven’t we been here before? The New York Times reports that the Justice Department’s inspector general, Michael Horowitz, has spent two years and millions of dollars to tell us that, gee, there were some mistakes made by the FBI in their calculated attempt to destroy President Trump, but hey it was all innocent fun! No one ever meant to overthrow an election!
Yeah right!
If the New York Times is right in their characterization of the new Horowitz report, then the American people have just fallen victim to the longest game of Three Card Monte in history.
“In particular, while Mr. Horowitz criticizes F.B.I. leadership for its handling of the highly fraught Russia investigation in some ways, he made no finding of politically biased actions by top officials Mr. Trump has vilified like the former F.B.I. director James B. Comey; Andrew G. McCabe, the former deputy who temporarily ran the bureau after the president fired Mr. Comey in 2017; and Peter Strzok, a former top counterintelligence agent.”
What? Is Horowitz really going to play this tune again? And if so, why the hell have we the American people out our trust in him?
Remember, it was Horowitz who issued the report in June 2018 on the FBI handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation that found no evidence of bias on the part of Comey, McCabe, Strzok and others such as Attorney General Loretta Lynch. Hell no, there was no bias. They just hated Donald Trump and loved Clinton, but they put that aside for the good of the country. If their actions helped Clinton and hurt Trump, it was just an accident, got it?
Now, according to the Times and other reporting, Horowitz is about to release a report on Dec. 9 that will point to some “sloppy” practices, but no bias against Trump and no intentional efforts by the FBI and others to mislead the FISA court to spy on Trump. Yeah right!
We’ve all been told for the last three years that Horowitz is a straight shooter, that we can trust him, but if he pulls the same crap again, then conservatives know definitively that we cannot count on equal justice, fair play or even honesty from our own government.
Ain’t that a fine kettle of fish!

IMO the current ene-media reporting on the Horowitz Report to be released Dec 9 is based on “leaking” by those who will be named in the Report. It’s an effort by the seditious “resisters” to shape the narrative in the minds of voters, part of the political theater to which we’ve been subjected for three years.
The rules under which a government IG must operate give those named in the report the ability to review it, and provide input based thereon, prior to the Report’s release. That’s the background of the ene-media’s sources.
Far more critical than the Horowitz Report will be the results of the Durham & Barr investigations and the indictments that result therefrom.
All true, but I remember how disappointing the first Horowitz report was. I’ll be happy to eat my words if Horowitz really calls out Comey or any of the other rats.
One can never expect an IG to hold his colleagues to full accountability, only to process errors that hold no real threat to the individual or the department. Few crimes are ever ‘committed’, only errors that hold no punishment. That is the history of an internal IG and the reason an IG should never be able to pursue misdeeds in his own bailiwick. RLS
