Flynn, McCabe and Avenatti: The good, the bad and the ugly

After the Roger Stone follies, the Justice Department probably should have gone to ground for the rest of the week. Instead, they announced two decisions that were open to criticism from the right in one case, the left in another, and coincidentally a verdict in a third case that hopefully should have everyone celebrating. Let’s call them the Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

The good news was that Attorney General Bill Barr has appointed an independent prosecutor to review the case against President Trump’s former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. Gen. Flynn was forced out of the White House and ultimately charged with lying to the FBI as a result of the rogue and illegal investigation into President Trump’s imaginary ties to Russia.

Flynn was set up by FBI Director Jim Comey and his henchmen by not being told he was under investigation, being told he didn’t need a lawyer, and being charged with lying even though his interrogators said he did not appear to be lying. Flynn was bankrupted by the Mueller prosecutors until he finally buckled and said he would cooperate. But when the Mueller goons asked Flynn to lie, he rebelled and fought back. He is currently seeking a new trial.

The radical left is howling over Barr taking an interest in this case, but let them howl. If an independent investigation determines that Flynn was the victim of a rogue FBI, then obviously justice is not being served. Let the facts speak for themselves.

The bad news out of the Justice Department in Friday was that rogue FBI assistant director Andrew McCabe won’t be charged criminally with lying under oath even though the inspector general concluded that he lied to investigators four times (three under oath) about his role in leaking.

That’s too bad considering that McCabe was central in the Deep State plot against President Trump, but my guess is that McCabe is not off the hook yet. US Attorney John Durham is conducting an independent investigation into the origins of the Russia Hoax, and from everything we know, McCabe, Comey, and their counterparts in the CIA and NSC should be charged with manufacturing evidence and. Inspire ya to deprive President Trump and others of their civil rights.

Don’t hold your breath, but don’t give up hope just yet.

Of course, the ugly case in this triumvirate of Justice cases is the conviction on all counts of sleazeball attorney Michael Avenatti for his attempt to extort millions of dollars out of Nike. It’s ugly because Avenatti got away for months with parading from show to show on CNN and MSNBC pretending to be the poster boy for truth, justice and the American way.

As the attorney for porn star Stormy Daniels, Avenatti hounded President Trump for months, even suggesting that he would run for president himself as a Democrat to chase Trump out of office. Instead, Avenatti wound up in jail for corruption, is being sued by Daniels for stealing her money, and is a national laughing stock who hopefully will spend years in prison for his various schemes to fund his lavish lifestyle.

Everything Avenatti did during his sordid career was ugly, but the ending is going to be beautiful.
