Et tu, General Milley?

Of course, it was no surprise when Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, stuck a knife in the back of President Trump today.

Generals and admirals have circled Trump like those Roman senators who circled Julius Caesar on the Ides of March and stabbed him to death. In both the modern and ancient cases, the elites and aristocrats were terrified of the reforms being instituted by the people’s leader. Caesar must die, and Trump must be destroyed.

Of course, Caesar expected loyalty from his friends, and so when he saw Brutus among the killers, he is imagined to have shouted out, “Et tu, Brute?” (Or “and you, Brutus?”). President a Trump too must have been shocked to be betrayed by the people who he had once fondly called “my generals.”

Milley is the latest traitor. In a recorded video commencement address to National Defense University, he apologized for accompanying the president to St. John’s Church to see the damage done by vandals the night before during rioting.

“I should not have been there,” Milley said. “My presence in that moment and in that environment created a perception of the military involved in domestic politics.”

Sorry, General, but the military is involved in domestic politics, and with your statement today you have worked to weaken the president and his lawful authority under the Insurrection Act to use the military to put down riots.

Milley joins Defense Secretary Mark Esper and retired Gen. James Mattis and others in his treasonous attack on the president. Milley, Esper and any active duty officers or Pentagon officials who disparage the president should be fired immediately.

Do it, Mr. President! Damn the liberal media, full speed ahead.
