Back down, Lin Wood! Trump Jr. says Georgia Republicans who don’t vote in runoff are fools

Lin Wood may be a great lawyer, but as a politician he should be locked up in a strait jacket and injected with sedatives till after the Jan. 5 Georgia runoff election.

Wood has been screaming at Georgia Republicans for the last two weeks to demand that they not vote in the runoff, which will determine control of the US Senate, because Democrats cheated in the presidential election and may do it again in January.

This is pure unthinking hysteria. The response to cheating by Democrats should be a massive turnout by Republicans on Jan. 5, not abject surrender.

Wood claims to be supporting President Trump, but his idea would not only harm Trump; it would be a crippling blow to the republic. Democratic control of the Senate would allow the end of the filibuster, court-packing, statehood for D.C. and Puerto Rico and much more.

Fortunately, Donald Trump Jr. has responded directly to Wood’s insane plan and called the proposed GOP boycott a gift to the Democrats.

Appearing on “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” Trump Jr. said, “If you truly believe in conservatism, if you believe in freedom, if you believe in individual rights, if you believe in the 2nd Amendment, we have to combat this nonsense. We have to win. We have to hold the Senate in Georgia.”

Exactly.

I don’t know what Lin Wood’s motivation is. Apparently he has a background of supporting Democrat candidates in the past, but he seems sincere in his enthusiasm for President Trump, but that doesn’t mean he is rational. Certainly, his proposed boycott — if it succeeded in electing two Democrats to the Senate — would do more damage to Trump’s legacy than anything other than the stolen election itself.

As Trump Jr. told Tucker:

“My father’s legacy, all of his accomplishments, all of the regulations, taking on China, pulling out of endless wars — everything that he’s accomplished — is on the table as far as I’m concerned in this election.

“So if you’re a Trump guy, if you believe that, you’d be foolish to listen to a few individuals who say, ah, just sit at home. It’s as though they’re working for the Democrats and giving the Democrats and Chuck Schumer everything he’s dreamed of for a long time.”

  1. Misplaced vindictiveness by Republican voters is not the solution to Georgia’s obvious election fraud that followed 4 years of persecution of the Trump family by the Democrat machine. Even if the candidates for senator are not Georgia peachy keen, simply remembering the vicious tearing up of Trump’s State of the Union address by good, loving Catholic Nancy Pelosi plus holding their noses might help them to favorably flood the ballot boxes & help curb the worst of Democrat intentions.
