Flag photos sought by Aug. 31 for patriotic contest

Many of you contacted me after reading my column about the surge of patriotic flag displays in my hometown of Kalispell, Montana, so I want to alert you to a flag photo contest that deadlines on Aug. 31.

The National Independent Flag Dealers Association is collaborating with The Tunnel To Towers Foundation for the 2021 Photo Contest. Judging will be done by 9-11 First Responders.

Tunnel to Towers Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization founded by Frank Siller to honor his brother, fallen firefighter Stephen Siller, who ran from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001.

“It is this humanitarian spirit that NIFDA recognizes as patriotic values, all woven within the fabric of the Stars and Stripes,” a press release notes. “This Photo Contest is a testament to that spirit and designed to bring about awareness and appreciation for the American Flag to unify and bring hope to all walks of life.”

As we approach the anniversary of 9/11 and witness the catastrophic surrender of Joe Biden, it is more important than ever to raise high the flag, and what it stands for.

Becoming a USA Flag Spotter is easy. Look for the American Flag in your community and take photos of the flag, mural, artwork, with or without people. Then email the photos with a completed Entry Form to Contests@NIFDA.net. Deadline to enter the Free Photo Contest is August 31, 2021. Visit www.NIFDA.net/photo-contest for Entry Rules and more information.

The National Independent Flags Dealers Association (NIFDA) is looking for high-quality photos of the American Flag, which create a sense of pride, while in use or on display (outdoors, indoors, at special events and in every day life).

For artists motivated to create a work of art, representing the American Flag, just take a high- quality digital photo of the artwork to submit your entry.

  1. Mr. Miele, you are a grand patriot and wonderful writer. We need more people just like you! I know they are out there, but “we” have been trained and conditioned to keep quiet.

    1. Hi Joe: there are certainly some very confused people, plus the evil ones who lead our country. But one has to hope the patriots like you and me are getting ready to show their strength. Either that, or kiss the US goodbye.
