Is Fake News CNN about to get its comeuppance?

The most magnificent part of Orson Welles’ “The Magnificent Ambersons” is his own narration of the story of entitlement and arrogance.

Perhaps the most famous quote about George Amberson Minafer — the reckless scion of the Amberson clan — can be partly adapted to describe CNN, the reckless scion of the proud American free press.

“Something had happened. A thing which, years ago, had been the eagerest hope of many, many good citizens of the town, and now it had come at last; [CNN] had got [its] comeuppance. [The Fake News channel] got it three times filled, and running over.”

At least that is what many of us hope we will soon be able to say after hearing that Nick Sandmann is filing suit against CNN for defamation of character. Sandmann’s attorney Lin Wood told Mark Levin on Fox News that the lawsuit will be filed this week and will seek at least $250 million in damages from the channel over its “vicious” and “direct attacks” on Covington Catholic student Sandmann.

Wood has already sued the Washington Post for the same amount, but as Wood points out, “CNN goes into millions of individuals’ homes,” and thus has even more power to destroy lives.

As everyone by now knows, the mainstream media targeted Sandmann and the other Covington, Kentucky, kids as racists when in fact they were victims at a confrontation in D.C. after the national pro-life rally.

I’m not sure how much $250 million will hurt CNN, but as the old joke goes, “It’s a good start.”

My new book, “The Media Matrix: What If Everything You Know Is Fake,” saves some of its hardest shots for CNN. Back in 2005, I named Kyra Phillips a candidate for Pseudo-Journalist of the Year, but these days there are so many candidates from CNN that you could not pick just one. The whole network is Fake News.

Over the years, I’ve highlighted bias and anti-Republican disdain by Carol Costello, Anderson Cooper, Chris Cillizza and of course Jim Acosta. Pick up the paperback version of “The Media Matrix” for $18.99 on Amazon or for $9.99 in the Kindle edition. If you hate Fake News as much as I do, you won’t be disappointed. 1. It is about time someone takes on these farcical fakes at CNN, et al. whose blather borders on a sickness. I have never seen the likes in my life of nine decades where the fakes are actually projecting what they actually do, not what others do. It is discouraging, but $250 million might get their attention. RLS
