Victor Davis Hanson puts our traitor generals in the stockade

Leave it to Victor Davis Hanson to use his terrible swift sword of reason to cut to the quick the traitorous admirals and generals who stuck a knife in the back of President Trump last week.

The latest essay by Hanson, as published in the New York Post, is called “Basic rules for generals who just have to play politics.”

It begins by noting that active-duty general officers are forbidden by Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice from expressing “contemptuous words against the president” and other senior civilian officials, and wonders whether that code should be applied to retired generals as well. In the interests of decency, Hanson proposes four modest rules that we might expect even retired generals to follow.

Hanson is so brilliant that he can expose the preening churlishness of our nation’s fake leaders with just a few words. You already knew that the statements by Gen. James Mattis, Admiral William McRaven and Gen. John Kelly attacking Trump were wrong, but Hanson zeroes in precisely on what makes them so rotten. His four rules are a stunning indictment of the utter fecklessness of these liberal goons in uniform.

“1) A retired general need not under any circumstances stoop to invoking Nazi Germany, Hitler or Fascism to criticize the president.”

This one is aimed directly at Mattis, who served as Trump’s first secretary of Defense and who suggested that the president was governing in the manner of Adolf Hitler. (You can’t make this stuff up!)

Here’s the quote from Mattis that riled up Hanson. It is so petty that maybe the editor of the Atlantic who published it will be forced to resign (oops! Sorry, that only happens to editors who publish statements by conservatives!)

“Instructions given by the military departments to our troops before the Normandy invasion reminded soldiers that ‘the Nazi slogan for destroying us . . . was ‘Divide and Conquer.’ Our American answer is ‘In Union there is Strength.’ We must summon that unity to surmount this crisis — confident that we are better than our politics. Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people — does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us.”

You moron! Barack Obama tried to unite us?!?! Did he do that before or after he tried to destroy Donald Trump with his Russia Hoax?

Hanson was just getting started …

“2) Any disparagement should not hint at any active resistance to, much less the removal of, an elected president other than through constitutionally mandated elections.”

This one seems obvious, right? Until you read Adm. William McRaven’s comments about Trump. As Hanson reminds us, McRaven wrote a column last October that claimed America was being attacked from “within” by Trump and that the “president should be removed from office, ‘the sooner, the better.'”

Hanson asks what the hell that means?!? Military coup? Partisan political impeachment? Assassination? What punishment does the admiral think is worthy for a supposed enemy of America?

Hanson’s third criteria for respectful dialogue by ex-military ought to apply to anyone, but of course liberals don’t follow rules.

“3) The condemnation should rest on clear factual evidence, not emotive anger or partisan disagreement.”

Could you imagine if Democrats had to have evidence before they spy on presidential campaigns? Or before they impeach presidents? Ha! Not gonna happen.

The last rule is perhaps the scariest one because it suggests that our grand military heroes may have been conspiring with each other to hurt the president.

“4) There should be no semblance of coordination among retired military officers.”

That rule clearly doesn’t exist, as there was a steady drumbeat of traitorous comments last week, up to and including the current Secretary of Defense, Mark Esper. At least the president can fire his ass — and he should!

Anyway, thanks again to Victor Davis Hanson who represents the hero of Rudyard Kipling’s “If” — the man who manages to keep his head when all about him are losing theirs.

Bravo! Am sending this to my VDH junkie cousin. Bill also admires him. Like you, VDH doesn’t let a crisis go by without nailing it exactly.

I wonder if ‘We.the People ‘ really understand the depth of the swamp…..

How far “they’ might go ??
Doesn’t even seem to be a Line in the Sand.

At what point is the Rubicon crossed ??
