Is it stupidity or cowardice that make Republicans eat their own?
Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., tried to rescue the party and the country today by asking the Senate to rule that the impeachment of FORMER President Donald J. Trump is unconstitutional. Of course, Paul’s motion was doomed to fail because Democrats always vote as a bloc, meaning there would be 50 votes against the Constitution.
But what pours salt in the wound is the venal traitorous vote of five Republicans who refused to acknowledge that the Pelosi-Schumer impeachment of Trump is a petty partisan sham.
Mitt Romney of Utah was the lone GOP vote for impeachment one year ago. This time around he was joined by Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Susan Collins of Maine, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania in providing cover for the Democrat stunt.
Add their names to Liz Cheney and the nine Republicans who voted for impeachment, and you now have a list of the Top 15 Targets for removal from Congress. We don’t have to bother removing Democrats; let’s just focus on cleaning up our own house.
These people are despicable.
