Rush Limbaugh called home by God

Radio legend Rush Limbaugh always talked about himself as “talent on loan from God.” Today, God said he had need for that talent, and he called Rush home to heaven on special assignment.

Limbaugh died from lung cancer after a year-long battle that he fought in public alongside his lifelong battle against liberalism and in defense of America.

It is tempting to say that Limbaugh’s death represents the end of an era because his death leaves a huge hole in the public discourse, but in fact Limbaugh was the beginning of an era that is far from over. His impact on radio and on conservatism is the equivalent of George Washington’s impact on American politics.

Limbaugh had a love affair with American values and traditions, and no one spoke more passionately or more authoritatively than him about the importance of individual rights and the danger of big government.

I was fortunate enough to have Rush quote my columns on his nationwide talk show twice in the last two years since I started Heartland Diary USA.

Back in July 2019, I wrote about the “America Last” Democrats and how they could not beat Donald Trump. (I didn’t take into account vote fraud!) You can read my column about Limbaugh’s use of my ideas to spin his own here.

In May of last year, Rush quoted from my column asking President Trump to appoint special prosecutors on Obamagate and on Biden corruption. You can read Rush’s commentary here. As usual, Rush had a hard time pronouncing my name, but it was fun to listen to him try!

Having Rush Limbaugh mention me on his radio program was an honor of a lifetime. I certainly hope to continue to learn from his example and to follow in his path.

He was and will be an inspiration for millions of Americans who love their country. God bless Rush Limbaugh, and God bless America.

  1. To copy Ada’s message, “God Bless you, too, Frank.” I still plan to add Rush Limbaugh’s name to my emails to remind the editors and journalists to whom I ask for help or clarity, that we should be reminded of Rush’s values and his courage. It will be interesting to ask ourselves, “What would Rush do?” I hope our conservative political elected republicans can fill this void. Clearly and concisely. “What would Rush say?”

  2. Rush would have been pleased and humbled to read your remarks. My husband & sons were avid Rush listeners since his Sacramento days and I became a fan gradually as his voice kept us company on countless road trips twixt California & Montana.
Rush’s historical perspective and “sound bites” helped enormously in the political formation of our entire family with the exception of one daughter who had the misfortune of marrying a Boston area democrat. Hope springs eternal!
    RIP Rush!!

  3. I was so thrilled when I heard Rush mention your name as I am HUGE fans of both of you! I cant believe it’s been 30 years since I started listening to Rush. I need 30 years of you Frank! God bless the Limbaugh family & I pray they find peace! Pray for America. Thank you Frank!

  4. His words reflecting our patriotic feelings – classic with every breath:

“America is under attack from within,” he warned. “Our culture, our history, our founding are under the most direct assault I have seen in my life.”

    AMEN! 100 million times
