Zinke will stand his ground as enviro wolves circle him

Ryan Zinke resigned as secretary of the interior at the end of 2018 due to, as I wrote at the time, the well-funded attacks on his character that came from the green machine. He didn’t want to be a distraction from the president’s agenda and he wanted to protect his family.

Of course, now that the Democrats have taken power back in the House, they are doing the bidding of their green masters and launching investigations of Zinke on a number of trumped-up charges (pun intended since it is because of Zinke’s steadfast support of the president that he is being targeted).

The #FakeNews WashingtonPost reported earlier this week that Zinke is under investigation by the Justice Department for lying to the Interior Department’s inspector general. How do we know it’s true? Well, because the usually unreliable Post told us that “three people familiar with the matter” said so.

But Zinke, in an exit interview with the Associated Press, denied that he had lied to investigators and said “that the allegations against him fit into a ‘playbook’ used by the administration’s critics to stifle Trump’s energy agenda, smear Zinke’s name and undercut any future bid he might make for public office.”

Unfortunately Zinke has decided not to run for governor in Montana in 2020 as a result.

“I am certainly done with public service during this (election) cycle,” he said. “It would have to be a compelling reason to come back given the hostility, the threats levied against my family.”

Hopefully, that may leave him more free to speak out against the leftist agenda in a private capacity because the former Navy SEAL is a powerful advocate for traditional American values, national security and common-sense government.

Even if the enviro wolves surround him and continue to attack, I fully expect Secretary Ryan (who I know well) to fight back with the same intense ferocity as President Trump. Think of him as Liam Neeson at the end of “The Grey” when he straps a knife and shards of glass to his hands and prepares for battle against an entire pack of wolves.

“Once more into the fray. Into the last good fight I’ll ever know. Live and die on this day. Live and die on this day.”

We don’t find out the fate of Neeson’s character at the end of the movie, but I for one am betting on Ryan Zinke every time.

My new book “Trump’s American Vision: Just Right” (Part 3 of “Why We Needed Trump”) includes six essays on Zinke and several more defending Zinke and Whitefish Energy from the Deep State’s smear. Zinke’s declaration that he “believe(s) in the American spirit” despite the “attack dogs of the left” shows that he has a role to play in the future of the #MAGA movement.
