I don’t know how to fully account for the massive stupidity of the mainstream media, but I think it may just be getting worse!
Breathless reporting from the New York Times delivers the latest anti-Trump BOMBSHELL! Here’s the shocking headline:
“Mueller Report Exceeds 300 Pages, Raising Questions About Four-Page Summary”
What! That’s extraordinary — and clearly nefarious! How could the summary be s mere four pages when the report itself is more than 300 pages!?!!
Oh wait, you mean that’s the actual definition of a summary??? Weird!!! You would have thought one of those nifty editors at the Times would have thought about popping open a dictionary prior to breaking the news!
Summary (noun): A brief statement or account of the main points of something.
Shocking! Perhaps the editors eventually came to their senses. They left the headline, but they changed the lede to take out the querulous claim that the length of the report “raises new questions about Attorney General William P. Barr’s four-page summary.”
The odd thing is that search as you may through the remainder of the story (which required three authors — Nicholas Fandos, Adam Goldman and Katie Benner), you will find no indication what those questions are. You will find that there has been a lot of speculation about just how long Mueller’s report was, but no indication that anyone ever thought it was as short as a double-spaced freshman English term paper on the topic of the journalist as American literary hero.
Of course, the summary was only four pages long. That’s because the media and their partners in the Democratic Party were threatening to put a stake through Barr’s heart if he didn’t deliver the summary within a day or two of receiving Mueller’s report. Barr has also said he is working on releasing a redacted version of the full report in the next few weeks. No doubt the idiots at the New York Times will be shocked that the redacted version has gaps and omissions! (Note to New York Times editors: Look up “redacted” before you embarrass yourself with your mysterious “questions” next time!)
