You don’t have to go past the second paragraph of the preface to see the lies start to pile up in Adam Schiff’s “Impeachment Inquiry Report” that was released today.
Consider this whopper: “The Committees pursued the truth vigorously, but fairly, ensuring the full participation of both parties throughout the probe.”
LOL. Yep, I remember when the Intelligence Committee took testimony from the whistleblower, Eric Ciaramella, and I was especially riveted when Joe Biden got tongue-tied trying to explain why he had lied about knowing that his son’s company had as under investigation in the Ukraine!
Sorry, that never happened, but I was “pursuing the truth vigorously, but fairly” just like Adam Schiff did — in other words, I lied.
Of course, the intelligence committee didn’t hear from any witnesses that the Republicans wanted to call — because the Democrats vigorously (but not fairly) rejected all Republican witnesses.
Nor was President Trump allowed to have his attorney participate in the sham hearings. The Republicans on the committee performed ably, but they could not argue the president’s case as effectively as his own attorneys.
The next example of chicanery From Schiff and crew came at the bottom of the same page when Schiff invoked George Washington’s Farewell Address to supposedly condemn President Trump. This is another example of Democratic projection such as I wrote about this week at Real Clear Politics.
When Schiff reminds us that Washington warned of a time when “cunning, ambitious and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp to themselves the power of the government,” one can only hope that the petty congressional tyrant was looking in the mirror.
Has there ever been a more cunning, ambitious or unprincipled man than Adam Schiff? Is he not the one who is attempting to subvert the power of the people by overthrowing the elected president less than a year before the next election? How infuriating!
There are no surprises in this report. It just continues the partisan political hatchet job that the committee carried out in secret and later in public for the past two months. The premise is that Trump “solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, to benefit his reelection.” For those of us who don’t believe wrongdoing should be shielded from the public eye, that accusation is laughable.
It is plainly obvious that Vice President Joe Biden used the power of his office for the benefit of himself and his family by stopping the investigation into Burisma Holdings. President Trump asking for Ukraine to investigate that corrupt scheme is just holding people to account. To forgo an investigation because Biden was running for President would be an affront to the concept that no man is above the law.
Sorry, but I can’t bring myself to read the entire report. It’s just more of the same. I watched all the hearings, so I already know there is no evidence of wrongdoing by President Trump. There is just the continued owner grab by “cunning, ambitious and unprincipled” Adam Schiff.
