The further adventures of Liz Cheney, double agent

How aggravating to see Liz Cheney on “Face the Nation” this morning representing the Republican Party when in fact she has nothing in common with the millions of Republicans across this country.

Rep. Cheney, as everyone knows, didn’t just vote to impeach President Trump for the fake charge of inciting insurrection in the Jan. 6 Capitol incursion, but she also publicly condemned Trump with language that Democrats used in their attempt to destroy not just Trump but the entire conservative movement.

Cheney is the quintessential double agent — a down-home limited government Republican by day and a globalist uniparty profiteer by night.

The fact that Cheney remains the head of the Republican conference in The House of Representatives is a black mark on the Party, and disqualifies Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy from any serious consideration as a legitimate leader of his party. McCarthy is just RINO John Boehner without the whiskey breath and tobacco stains.

It was, of course, not an accident that Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan asked Cheney to condemn Trump by starting off with a quote from Boehner.

“Former Speaker John Boehner was just on CBS This Morning, saying January 6 should have been a wake up call for your party. It was an example of ‘political terrorism’ was the phrase he used. He doesn’t understand why more of your party didn’t speak up. You did speak up, and President Trump is threatening to primary you. Was separating yourself worth the risk?”

I don’t need to explain to you what bullshit that is. Anyone who has looked at the facts of the Nov. 3 election knows that the real risk is remaining silent about the Democratic Party hijacking the election in order to oust Trump from the White House. But more importantly, it’s not just Trump who wants Cheney out of the office she disgraced; it is the entire state of Wyoming, which she has failed to represent.

Listen to Cheney respond to President Trump’s continuing claims that Vice President Pence did not fight hard enough to preserve election integrity.

“The former president is using the same language that he knows provoked violence on Jan. 6. As a party, we need to be focused on the future, we need to be focused on embracing the Constitution, not embracing insurrection, and I think it’s very important for people to realize that a fundamental part of the Constitution and of who we are as Americans is the rule of law, it’s the judicial process. The election wasn’t stolen. It was a judicial process in place. If you attack the judicial process and you attack the rule of law, you aren’t defending the Constitution; you’re at war with the Constitution.”

That statement begins with a lie and ends with a lie. The Democrats and Trump-hating Republicans were not embracing the Constitution; they were spitting on it. It is the Constitution which places responsibility for presidential elections in the hands of state legislatures. This rule was grossly violated in Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and elsewhere.

As for the rule of law, it was violated repeatedly when no court would hear the evidence of election fraud that was clear and abundant. Just shut up and take it, the judges declared. It was that refusal by courts to apply the law equally that inspired the Jan. 6 protests, not President Trump.

Cheney is a disgrace, and the House Republicans must strip her of her leadership role immediately.

(View the entire interview here. I would have put my own video up on YouTube, but they would have just taken it down, so the only alternative is the CBS video. Sorry!)
