Here’s a delightful story about a rising star in the Republican Party who is trying to rouse the GOP to excise the cancer known as Mitt Romney before it metastasizes into a full-blown fatal tumor.
Jevon O.A. Williams is a Republican National Committee member from the Virgin Islands, and he wasted no time Tuesday sending a letter to the other 167 committee members that called Romney’s anti-Donald Trump op-ed an act of ‘calculated political treachery’ against the president.
The Daily Mail featured Williams in an article that quoted him as writing, “With Republicans like him [Romney] who needs Democrats?”
Amen, brother!
According to the Mail, Williams is calling upon the GOP to close what he calls “loopholes” in the nominating process that Romney an other anti-Trump Republicans, could use to weaken the president with primary challenges.
“Look, the political history is clear. No Republican president opposed for re-nomination has ever won re-election,” Williams wrote.
According to the Mail, “Williams is a native of Antigua & Barbuda who earned U.S. citizenship through a dozen years of Army National Guard service.”
Too bad he’s not eligible to be president himself because — unlike Romney — he is worthy of the job.
