I woke up this morning, and like usual I turned on “Varney & Co.” on the Fox Business channel. This is better than sunshine. Really!
First up is President Trump touting the great and growing economy at a rally last night in Pennsylvania and blasting the “socialist wackos” in the Democrat party.
Then Stuart Varney, one of the best people on TV, introduces his first guest, economist Peter Morici, professor emeritus at the University of Maryland, who decimates the Democrats for their economic idiocy.
“Over and over again we heard Democratic economists tell us it’s simply not possible to grow this way. Productivity growth is over. It’s history. And we won’t be having a lot of jobs because we don’t have people. Well, productivity growth is busting out at the seams and lots of people are being found to go to work and that’s how we’re accomplishing 3 percent growth. We could go to 4 percent if we got some cooperation on the Hill instead of investigation.”
Thank you, Professor Morici, but he was just getting started!
“We have not had a president villainized and stalked like this by Congress and the press since John Quincy Adams. I mean think about it. He’s being treated like an occupying dictator in Washington, which is absurd. He was duly elected — to accomplish this. In this kind of environment where every time he goes to court they trump up (excuse me…) an Obama judge to nail him down, my feeling is that this has been an extraordinary performance. It reminds me of Johnny Podres in the 1955 World Series shutting down the Yankees.”
If you hate the Yankees like I do, that says it all!
And that’s why I watch Fox Business. Thank you, Stuart Varney, Maria Bartiromo, Lou Dobbs, Trish Regan and the rest!
My new book is “The Media Matrix: What If Everything You Know Is Fake,” which offers many examples of the press being the enemy of the truth. To support my work, please consider buying “The Media Matrix” or my “Why We Needed Trump” trilogy, which documents the downward spiral of the USA before Trump arrived on the scene.
