The first round of debates may have vaulted Kamala Harris into front-runner status for the Democratic presidential nomination, but it also established that she is a horrible person — a person who will say anything to get elected. She made up a story about how she had been the victim of discrimination as a child and blamed poor Joe Biden for it.
But let’s face it, plenty of Democrats who run for president are horrible people, but do they have to be communists and racists too?
According to Fox News, Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., announced Saturday that she would “invest $100 billion of federal money into housing assistance for black families as part of an effort to close the racial wealth gap in the United States if elected president.”
Whoa! What about that part of civil rights law that says you cannot discriminate based on race, color or creed? What about that part of the law that says all people have equal protection and cannot be discriminated against by the government?
I know, I know. Those protections do not extend to white people because, well, because white people are white. But honestly, if thew American people elect someone on the basis of a promise that they will blatantly discriminate against an entire class of people based on their color, we may as well throw out the Constitution with the morning trash.
Harris doesn’t care about the Constitution. She just wants to get elected.
“After generations of discrimination, it’s time to give Black families a real shot at homeownership,” Harris tweeted on Saturday.
While appearing at Essence’s Global Black Economic Forum, she emphasized the role of homeownership in driving the growth of wealth in the U.S. According to Harris’ campaign, she would help 4 million homebuyers through down payment and closing-cost assistance — granting up to $25,000 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
If there are policies in place that permit discrimination against blacks from owning homes, those policies should be dismantled. But the government should not do anything to benefit one class of citizens over another. Yet that is what Harris intends to do. “If we eliminate racial wealth disparities in homeownership rates, median Black wealth would grow $32,113 per household, and the wealth gap between Black and white households would shrink 31 percent,” her campaign said.
In any case, based on the campaign’s press release, there is no current discrimination, but rather “historic” discrimination against black homeowners. In other words, this is the equivalent of reparations for slavery. As Harris explained it:
One major cause for this is historic redlining – the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation’s practice of identifying neighborhoods, often majority Black neighborhoods, where traditional lenders should not lend. Redlining has resulted in households of color receiving just 2% of the FHA loans extended between 1934-1962, and formerly redlined neighborhoods are sites of deep racial disparities in home value and lending activity.
If you hand money over to one class of people based on their race, that is prima facie evidence of discrimination. It is also wealth redistribution, which is a key component of communism. You wouldn’t think that would be a good way to get elected president of the United States, but you would apparently be wrong.
