Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, struck three blows against the Deep State smear machine in his five minute session at Thursday’s sham impeachment hearing.
First he responded to Democrat Rep. Terri Sewell lamenting how Trump and his supporters smear women by pointing out that Republican Elise Stefanik has been the subject of disgraceful attacks, including by the overweight snake George Conway. So yeah, don’t pretend only anti-Trump witnesses are attacked on Twitter.
Second Turner responded to witness Fiona Hill’s unsubstantiated claim that she “had heard” some members of the committee did not believe the Russians had tried to interfere in the 2016 election. Absurd! Turner read from the committee’s bipartisan report that had confirmed just such interference.
Perhaps most powerfully, Turner exposed witness David Holmes’ two-faced claim that he wanted to protect Ukraine when his testimony needlessly held up for ridicule the president of the Ukraine as a toady of the United States.
Turner has proved to be one of the most insightful questioners on the Republican side of the aisle, although frankly all of them have been very good.
WHO WE ARE
Frank Miele has spent four decades in the news business and now offers conservative commentary to counter the left-wing bias in the national media. If you enjoy reading these daily essays, I hope you will consider purchasing one of my books. They are available at Amazon in paperback or Kindle editions. My new book — “The Media Matrix: What if everything you know is fake?” — shows that Fake News has been around for years. The “Why We Needed Trump” trilogy tackles the politics of the last two decades: Part 1 is subtitled “Bush’s Global Failure: Half Right.” Part 2 is “Obama’s Fundamental Transformation: Far Left.” Part 3 is “Trump’s American Vision: Just Right.” Also consider subscribing to Heartland Diary on YouTube by clicking here for News Every Conservative Can Use.
