The Democrats finally did it — they pulled the trigger. Now we just have to wait. According to Miele’s General Theory of Impeachment, they have just shot themselves in the backside.
This is a corollary of Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity, which says that if you go fast enough you can see the back of your own head. Well, the Democrats are certainly invoking impeachment at the speed of light, and they will pay the price. The bullet will come back to haunt them.
With nary a fact at their disposal, the House Dems have brought two articles of impeachment to fruition. The first says that President Trump abused his power by setting his own foreign policy instead of doing what Democrats wanted. The second, much more subtly, says he obstructed Congress by slapping a “kick me” sign on the back of Adam Schiff.
Oooh, scary! Or maybe not. Face it, President Trump doesn’t seem a bit worried. Maybe that’s because he knows that space and time are curved, and what goes around is gonna come around. The Democrats knew they could never convince Republicans in the Senate to convict Trump, but they decided to move ahead anyway.
When the president is acquitted in January, and takes his victory lap around the country, he is going to sound a lot like Br’er Rabbit. “I kept daring them to throw me in the brier patch, and to my astonishment they actually did it!” Impeachment is just one more reality show for Donald “Celebrity Apprentice” Trump. The ratings should be through the roof, and when Trump is vindicated and becomes a folk hero, the Dems will have no one to blame but themselves.
