Former man is spokesperson for 2020 Women’s March. Why?

Nothing surprises me anymore, but watching CNN’s coverage of the 2020 Women’s March in Washington, D.C., did leave me shaking my head in disbelief.

As Christi Paul began her coverage of the march on “CNN Newsroom,” she announced that she was talking to a member of the march’s board named Isa Noyola. As I watched the interview I instantly felt a disconnect between what I was seeing and hearing onscreen and the concept of a “Women’s” March. That’s because Noyola, despite the long hair, looked and sounded an awful lot like a man.

Sure enough. A quick Google search revealed that Noyola is a prominent transgender activist and a leader in the LGBT immigrant rights movement. That’s all well and good, but just how exactly is this genetically conforming male supposed to be a spokesperson for the Women’s March?

Do women really need to import men into their gender to have a voice of their own? I think it’s great that anyone and everyone should support women, but I have a hard time thinking women can’t speak for themselves.

That would be just as true if the spokesperson were a straight male, a gay male or an asexual male. Why do women need men to speak for them?

This should not have anything to do with liberal or conservative. It is a common sense position. Maybe the 2021 Women’s March should change its name to something more appropriate like the 2021 “Why Is Trump Still President?” March.

Then there could be a broad coalition of liberal groups that share a common agenda, and transgenders (men and women) could both play a role, along with Democratic women, Open Borders advocates, socialists and others who hate Donald Trump and his pro-life, pro-reason agenda.

In the meantime, if you are going to have a women’s march, it can be supported by anyone but should be led by women.
