Nancy Pelosi used her regular Thursday morning press conference to continue her irregular attack on the president of the United States. She insulted the president and his millions of supporters, said the president knows nothing about prayer and faith, and labeled his State of the Union address as a “Manifesto of Mistruths.”
If I didn’t know better, I might think that Pelosi was just exhibiting the sour grapes of a Speaker of the House who had foolishly engineered a failed impeachment of a beloved president of the United States and now faces the prospect of losing the House of Representatives just nine short months from now.
President Trump and Speaker Pelosi had both attended the National Prayer Breakfast earlier in the day, and Trump naturally had brought up his historic victory in the Senate. He also said he didn’t much care for religious hypocrites, without naming anyone in particular:
“I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong, nor do I like people who say ‘I pray for you’ when you know that is not so.”
Pelosi, in her later press conference, seemed to think that the president was talking about Mitt Romney, the turncoat GOP senator who voted to convict Trump and remove him from office. How convenient for Nancy! Of course, the rest of us know that she also used her faith “as justification for doing what [she knows] in wrong.” Moreover, it was Pelosi who claimed repeatedly that she was praying for President Trump at the same time she was trying to remove him from office. How delightful!
In answer to a question, she said condescendingly, “I don’t know if the president understands about prayer or about people who pray. But we do pray! … I pray hard for him because he’s so off the track about Constitution, our values, our country, the air our children breathe, the water they drink and the rest. He really needs our prayers.”
She concluded her assault on the president’s religious beliefs by saying, “He’s talking about things he knows little about — faith and prayer.”
After that, she got a question from CNN’s Manu Raju asking whether she had been hypocritical by ripping up the president’s State of the Union speech when she counsels her members to act with dignity. Ooh, that hurt! Manu isn’t supposed to question the Democratic orthodoxy!
“I tore up a Manifesto of Mistruths. It’s very hard for us to get you to talk about the issues we are working on … He misrepresented all of that. It was necessary to get the attention of the American people to say ‘This is not true, and this is how it affects you.’ And I don’t need any lessons from anybody, especially the president of the United States, about dignity.”
Regarding her staged tearing up of the speech, she said, “I think it was completely, entirely appropriate, and considering some of the other exuberances within me, the courteous thing to do.” Nancy may not know what exuberance means, but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t mean “shove it up his ass.”
When she got a question that supposed that Trump might still be president for the next State of the Union address in 2021, she nearly lost it. “Next year we will have another president of the United States. That is an absolute imperative for our country. … I have tried to be gracious with him. I’m always dignified. I thought that was a very dignified act compared to my exuberances, as I said, but we will not allow any president to use that Capitol, that chamber of the House of Representatives, the people’s House, as a backdrop for him.”
Pelosi said that the State of the Union address was undignified because the president invited various Americans to share the stage with him — including a 100-year-old Tuskegee Airman, a fourth-grader being awarded a scholarship to pursue a better education, and the family of a soldier who surprised them by returning home from the battlefield. Sad that she doesn’t think those stories should be celebrated.
Pelosi ended by saying, “I feel very liberated. I feel very liberated. I feel that I have extended every possible courtesy, I’ve shown every level of respect. … I extend the hand of friendship to him to welcome him as the president of the United States to the people’s house. It’s also an act of kindness cause to me it looked to me like he was a little sedated. He looked that way last year too.”
Oh dear, what a gracious woman! But if she is liberated of anything, it is her reason. Let us pray that after the next election, she gets the rest she so clearly needs!

My blood pressure is way over the top because of the undignified and ungracious, Petty Betty, Nancy Pelosi. My irritation and anxiety is a lot better when I read columns by Mr. Miele, who captures the grotesqueness of Nancy Pelosi. It is definitely “misery wants company.” I loved everything President Trump said today. If he didn’t seem gracious to Nancy, perhaps she has Alzheimer’s and should be reminded that she participated in an intricate plot to BURY him. If the FBI had been found to have done 1/10 the sedition against Obama, people would be in prison. If President Trump did not meet Nancy’s idea of dignified behavior, then her judgment is completely flawed. I sent the following to RealClear Politics because the behavior of the sub-human anti-Trump selfish people really bothered me today:.
“Has anyone heard of The New Way Forward Act? Ilhan Omar and other seditionists have submitted a bill which would allow ms-13 gang members more lenience and tolerance in our courts of law than anything to date. “End the Prison-to-Deportation pipeline” Tucker Carlson just scared the stuffing out of me with this report. In May 2018, the extremely sanctimonious and self-righteous Nancy Pelosi spoke about MS-13 after President Trump called their murdering, raping, malignant behavior something the United States will not tolerate and said they were “Animals.” . Nancy pompously said, “We are all God’s children. There is a spark of divinity in every person on Earth,” yet she never sees that spark of divinity in President Trump! She finds it in murdering soulless felons and thugs. She is an embarrassment. She said you have to wonder about the President about not seeing divinity in machete wielding men. She is a disgrace and a moron to question the President’s policies to rid the country of this horror. She became speaker of the house 6 months after that. We’ve been in misery ever since.”. I pray every day the Republicans maintain their momentum and take back the house and hold onto the Senate. And I honest-to-God pray for President Trump every day…..often, all day! I want the message of rejection to hit the Democrats in their conniving, arrogant, and sanctimonious faces.
