Sen. Rubio schools Stephanie Ruhle on national security and Chinese propaganda

I’ve often warned conservative politicians about the foolhardiness of consenting to interviews with the “Enemedia” like CNN and MSNBC.

Usually they get their head handed to them, but Sen. Marco Rubio went into the lion’s den Friday, and came out of it intact.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle, Rubio was able to survive an attempted ambush when Ruhle tried to defend the “honor” of journalism.

Rubio had tweeted earlier in the week that it was shameful that some journalists were gleeful that the US had surpassed China for confirmed coronavirus cases.

Ruhle took exception to that, and seemed to think that it was impossible journalists might have been gleeful about Americans’ misfortune.

“I need to ask you this because I’m a journalist,” she said. “We’re not just some personalities. You called out journalism. And I need to understand why on Earth you did this.”

Rubio calmly explained he did it because it was true. He said he had given multiple examples of “some” journalists promoting the idea that the US was less capable than China. He also explained the meaning of the word “some” and pointed out that the Chinese number of cases was the result of state propaganda, and that so-called journalists parroting Chinese propaganda was a national security concern.

Ruhle again took offense and accused Rubio of “finger-pointing,” which of course is just what he did do. He pointed his finger at anti-American journalists, and neither Ruhle nor anyone else should defend them.
