If there were ever any doubts about the evil intentions of Democrats, those doubts evaporated in the opening statement of Rep. Jerry Nadler today as he scurrilously attacked Attorney General Bill Barr before the House Judiciary Committee.
If we still had legal duels in this country, you know that Barr would have walked to the podium and slapped Nadler silly for his lies and slander. Oh wait! Congressmen like Nadler can tell any lie they want and they have immunity! Honest citizens like Barr are just supposed to sit quietly and take it. Too bad, because if ever a congressman deserved to face consequences, it was the anti-American propagandist Nadler.
Chairman Nadler didn’t call this hearing in an effort to gather information about the Justice Department, but to give cover to a legal mob of Democrats who only wanted to hurt Barr and President Trump. He was wearing a mask because of COVID, but it could just as easily have been because he was a highwayman lurking to do harm.
“Your tenure is marked by a persistent war against the Department’s professional core in an apparent effort to secure favors for the President,” Nadler told Barr.
“Others have lost sight of the importance of civil rights laws—but now we see the full force of the federal government brought to bear against citizens demonstrating for the advancement of their own civil rights. There is no precedent for the Department of Justice actively seeking out conflict with American citizens, under such flimsy pretext, or for such petty purposes.”
In other words, the Justice Department has attempted to enforce the law while Democrats have been on the streets throwing bombs, Molotov cocktails and rocks at police officers.
To make it perfectly clear, Nadler continued:
“… under your leadership, the Department has endangered Americans and violated their constitutional rights by flooding federal law enforcement into the streets of American cities, against the wishes of the state and local leaders of those cities, to forcefully and unconstitutionally suppress dissent.”
This is a tragic abuse of power by Nadler, but perhaps he is delusional like his presidential candidate Joe Biden. After all, Nadler just said on camera that the subversive anti-police violence taking place nightly in Portland and other cities is “a myth that’s being spread only in Washington, D.C..”
Obviously, what’s being spread in Washington, D.C., by Democrat politicians is indeed a myth — a myth of peaceful protesters who throw bombs!
Fortunately, the Republicans’ ranking member on the Judiciary Committee, Jim Jordan, used most of his opening statement to show video footage of riots across the country that not even a Democrat could miss.
And yet they continued the attack on Barr for somehow violating the rights of rioters. What a sad state affairs.
