Paul Ryan confirms he is the Dr. Evil behind the death of Fox News

All that was missing was a cat named Mr. Bigglesworth, but when Paul Ryan issued a statement today condemning President Trump and his supporters in Congress, it was just as good as a signed confession that Ryan is the evil genius behind the collapse of Fox News.

It’s been long suspected that Ryan has used his position on the board of Fox to steer the formerly conservative news network to the dark side. Although prime time FNC has remained mostly conservative, that isn’t true on the news side where Chris Wallace is mentoring a crew of Trump-hating young reporters like Leland Vittert and Gillian Turner.

The network was totally exposed as a Fake News Channel on election night when the “decision desk” mysteriously called Arizona for Joe Biden when only a handful of votes were counted, yet stubbornly refused to acknowledge Trump’s decisive wins in Florida and Ohio for many hours.

Of course, Paul Ryan has always been against Trump. He was Mitt Romney’s vice presidential candidate in 2012 (yech!) and tried to sabotage Trump after the Access Hollywood tape was released in 2016. Then as speaker of the House, Ryan wasted two years of Trump’s presidency by refusing to carry forward a conservative agenda.

What a loser! If he had been an effective Republican leader, the GOP would have held the House in 2018 and Nancy Pelosi would never have become speaker, nor would there have been a fake impeachment.

So when Ryan told Congress to ignore voter fraud and rubber-stamp Joe Biden’s victory, no one should have been surprised. According to Ryan, if Congress exercises its constitutional authority to oversee the election if the president, then they are sabotaging democracy and “self-governance.” But apparently if they discover fraud and have the chance to protect the republic from a phony election, they are supposed to just shut up and pretend nothing happened.

That is frickin’ Paul Ryan to a tee (apologies you “Austin Powers” fans!).

Here’s the complete statement by Ryan, if you want to relive the dark days from before President Trump:

“All our basic rights and freedoms flow from a fidelity to the Constitution and the rule of law. This principle is not only fundamentally American but a central tenet of conservatism. Under our system, voters determine the president, and this self-governance cannot sustain itself if the whims of Congress replace the will of the people. I urge members to consider the precedent that it would set.

“Efforts to reject the votes of the Electoral College and sow doubt about Joe Biden’s victory strike at the foundation of our republic. It is difficult to conceive of a more anti-democratic and anti-conservative act than a federal intervention to overturn the results of state-certified elections and disenfranchise millions of Americans. The fact that this effort will fail does not mean it will not do significant damage to American democracy.

“The Trump campaign had ample opportunity to challenge election results, and those efforts failed from lack of evidence. The legal process was exhausted, and the results were decisively confirmed. The Department of Justice, too, found no basis for overturning the result. If states wish to reform their processes for future elections, that is their prerogative. But Joe Biden’s victory is entirely legitimate.”

Paul Ryan is either a proud surrender monkey or a Democrat mole. He never accomplished anything for the Republican Party, and he is a disgrace to the republic.
