Montana finally has a Republican representative worthy of the name. Freshman Rep. Matt Rosendale Tuesday blasted GOP party leader Liz Cheney for her outrageous decision to support the impeachment of President Trump.
I don’t believe his two predecessors would have had the courage to do so. Greg Gianforte and Steve Daines are mostly establishment Republicans who don’t like to make waves, but Rosendale may be trying to show himself to be more of a maverick who is willing to speak for Montana’s conservative values.
Cheney, on the other hand, is a smug elitist who is only interested in political power. Her statement yesterday was revenge for the Bush-Cheney team against the Trump revolution:
“The President of the United States summoned this mob, assembled the mob, and lit the flame of this attack,” Cheney said in a statement. “Everything that followed was his doing. None of this would have happened without the President. The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.”
“There has never been a greater betrayal by a President of the United States of his office and his oath to the Constitution,” she added.
I blasted her in a post on this site, but I never imagined Rosendale would join me. After all, I can say whatever I want (at least for now), but Rosendale has to work with Cheney, who is the the third most powerful Republican in a Congress. “Who cares,” Rosendale seems to have decided. “I’ll do what’s right!”
Good for him. Here is part of his statement:
“When Representative Cheney came out for impeachment today, she failed to consult with the Conference, failed to abide by the spirit of the rules of the Republican Conference, and ignored the preferences of Republican voters. She is weakening our conference at a key moment for personal political gain and is unfit to lead. She must step down as Conference Chair.”
Strong words!
According to Newsmax reporter John Gizzi, “House observers believe that Rosendale was speaking for his roughly 40 fellow House Republican freshmen, most of whom are strongly pro-Trump.”

When Liz Cheney said about President Trump: “The President could have immediately and forcefully intervened to stop the violence. He did not.” Where was she when swamp people called President Trump a DICTATOR? Where was Liz Cheney when the daily and hourly slings and arrows of the swamp Democrats and swamp republicans, voices amplified by the liberal media, threatened heaven and earth if President Trump intervened in (1) covid rules, (2) the take over of Seattle by a made up government called CHAD, (3) black lives matter painted down Pennsylvania avenue, (4)chanting pigs in a blanket, how do we like them…(5) Manhattan under fire. When President Trump wanted to stop the carnage resulting from the continued War in Afghanistan, Cheney thought we should continue to sacrifice America’s youth, and that’s ok. Do these people hear themselves? It’s ok to sponsor the killing of Americans in Afghanistan so the defence contractors like Haliburton succeed and make millions, but frustrated Americans led by people who infiltrated the group is grounds for divorce. The Democrats, led by Mitt need to get a grip. Britt Hume is fast to condemn Trump for the riot whereas the governor of Washington, the mayor of D.C. On January 2017, the mayor of Portland, all wanted mayhem in an election year. And the liberal media egged them on every step of the way. These people are hard to take.
