Thank God for Rand Paul! Every time I get depressed about the state of the Republican Party, I’m going to watch this clip of Sen. Paul standing up to the bully George Stephanopoulos.
The ABC News host got a lesson in fair play from Sen. Paul today. Stephanopoulos asked Paul about the 2020 election, but he didn’t get the answer he wanted. Instead of bowing to Stephanopoulos “threshold question” that the election was not stolen in 2020, Paul recited the known facts about the election and said there are two sides to every story.
Not on this one, Stephanopoulos said. Paul pointed out that if Stephanopoulos were a real journalist, then he would have two guests on to argue both sides. Instead, Stephanopoulos just called Paul a liar.
“Seventy-five percent of Republicans agree with you because they were fed a big lie by President Trump and his supporters that the election was stolen.”
Hell no, Paul is not a liar. He just doesn’t want to repeat the 2+2=5 formula that Big Brother wants to hear. Paul is asking for a Socratic investigation of the election irregularities instead of just being told to stop looking. What are the Democrats afraid of?
You’ve got to listen to this interview. Paul provides a roadmap for all Republicans who want to stand up to the Fake News bullies. He also makes me put him in my Top 3 for who to support for President in 2024. Paul pointed out that the courts never actually looked at the merits of the case, but rejected it over lack of standing. He also pointed out that Paul is not a journalist, but rather an advocate.
“George, where you make a mistake is people coming from the liberal side like you, you immediately say everything’s a lie instead of saying there’s two sides to everything. Historically what would happen if I said In thought there were fraud, you would interview someone who said there wasn’t. Now you insert yourself in the middle and say the absolute fact is everything I’m saying is a lie.”
Good job, senator!

Bravo! It does my heart warm to read your column and to see Rand Paul standing up to a non journalist. Good journalists are hard to find. Too many of them are being silenced. Stephanopoulos is not a journalist. He has enjoyed the glitter from having worked for Clinton and having the Clinton entitlement and chutzpah rub off on him. But he is hardly a “journalist” any more than the woman who claimed to be as she lied to her audience.

Christiane Amanpour, a typical Stephanopoulos journalist. She is opinionated and condescending. As long as both she and Stephanopoulos have claimed superiority over conservatives, Rand Paul and other Patriots like him, will have an uphill battle. We need more Heartland Diary USA. We need it “amplified” not “de-amplified.”

Rand Paul is definitely his own man and worthy of admiration. Just curious, Frank. If Rand is your # 3 pick in 2024, who are #’s 2 and 1?
At this point, Trump and Cruz, but Hawley is in there too. You got any favorites?
Trump’s best advisors and/or restrainers were said to be Jared and Ivanka Trump Kushner. Time and again, during his rallys, Trump showered her with endorsing accolades. Husband Jared received bipartisan admiration for facilitating First Step program. God knows they’ve both been tested and not found wanting. Kristi Noem of South Dakota is also a possibility; tough, no nonsense Norwegian, farmland roots, business experience and current, governor of the state. After Sleepy Joe, party Patriots will be wanting the Trump ideology but with a youthful face. (In my humble opinion)
Certainly excited by Gov. Noem. Not so much by Jared and Ivanka.
