Justice delayed is still justice of a sort, and for Paul Manafort it was the best he could hope for.
Manafort is the former chairman of the 2016 Trump campaign who was targeted by the CIA, FBI and Justice Department as part of the Democrat Party’s plot to destroy Donald Trump. He was serving a 7 1/2 year prison term essentially for refusing to testify against Trump in the Fake Russia collusion scandal.
The lame charges against Manafort included that he had shared internal campaign polls in Ukraine with a longtime Russian business associate during Trump’s run for office (as if campaign polls are state secrets!). Moreover, there were multiple charges of tax evasion from a decade earlier. Those allegations had all been investigated years before and dismissed by the Justice Department, but Robert Mueller resurrected the charges because he needed to do something to justify his huge budget.
On Friday, President Trump also granted a full pardon to his longtime adviser Roger Stone, whose sentence had already been commuted last July. Stone was convicted of nothing more than being a friend of President Trump who had the courage to call Mueller’s gang of thugs a gang of thugs.
Further infuriating liberal nonentities at CNN, Trump also pardoned New York businessman Charles Kushner, the father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Charles Kushner had been prosecuted by then-US Attorney for New Jersey Chris Christie in the early 2000s for tax evasion, witness tampering and illegal campaign contributions. It is hard to know for sure whether President Trump issued this pardon our of respect for Jared or out of disdain for Christie. Either way, well done!
Add these pardons to the one issued Tuesday to George Papadopoulos, and President Trump is finally close to setting straight the injustices meted out by the corrupt Justice Department during the Russia Hoax. He should definitely issue pardons to himself and other members of the family before he leaves office because otherwise Democrats will hound them for the rest of their days.
One last point. Attorney General Bill Barr officially left office today, giving President Trump a chance to make sure special prosecutors are appointed to handle the Hunter Biden investigation and the 2020 election fraud scandal. Get ‘er done!
