Nancy Pelosi goes there — raises specter of removing Trump from office by means other than impeachment

If you aren’t frightened by what is happening in Washington, D.C., right now, you are either ignorant or an anarchist.

If you are a Democrat, you may be both.

Witness Nancy Pelosi. On Wednesday she accused the president of being engaged in a cover-up. From what I can tell, no member of the mainstream media has yet bothered to ask her what exactly President Trump is covering up.

An even better question would be what exactly do the Democrats hope to find by going on a fishing expedition through all of Trump’s personal finances, business transactions and taxes. And particularly this: What right does Congress have to seize documents without reasonable cause?

But we can’t expect the national press to do its job anymore.

Anyway, Pelosi continued her assault on the president today. At her weekly press conference, she doubled down in her cover-up claim and then said she thought the president might be suffering from mental problems that had incapacitated him. Apparently we are supposed to forget about Nancy’s own repeated brain freezes and malapropisms when speaking in public. It’s Trump that isn’t in touch with reality!

“I pray for the president of the United States,” she told reporters. “I wish that his family or his administration or his staff would have an intervention for the good of the country… I’m concerned about his well-being.”

Her reference to “intervention” led a reporter to ask her what she meant, and at that point Pelosi said it might be a good idea to have a “statutory intervention,” referencing the 25th Amendment, which allows for the removal from office of a president who is incapacitated. Unfortunately for addle-brained Pelosi, she referred to Article 25 of the Constitution instead of the 25th Amendment.

Of course, those of us who have been watching Pelosi for years cannot be surprised that she isn’t familiar with the Constitution. We also can’t be surprised that she is raising the specter of removing Trump from office without benefit of impeachment.

After all, that was the whole purpose of the Steele Dossier and the Mueller Witch Hunt in the first place, wasn’t it?
