Why are the Democrats so afraid of Tulsi Gabbard?

In state after state on Super Tuesday, Tulsi Gabbard pulled up the rear, usually with 1 percent or less of the vote in Democratic primaries.

I think it’s pretty clear that Gabbard won’t be the Democratic nominee for president, but the party is terrified of her.

You can tell because they keep changing their rules to keep her off the debate stage.

In the latest indication, Dems announced that having won a delegate for the national convention is no longer sufficient to earn a spot in the debates. Not coincidentally, that same day, Gabbard won a delegate from American Samoa.

DNC Communications Director Xochitl Hinojosa announces on Twitter:

“We have two more debates — of course the threshold will go up. By the time we have the March debate, almost 2,000 delegates will be allocated. The threshold will reflect where we are in the race, as it always has.”

But what’s concerning is how the Democratic Party changes the goal posts whenever convenient to help certain candidates and hurt others. They allowed Mayor Bloomberg to participate in debates, for instance, even though he didn’t meet the donor threshold. If Dems don’t want to look like they are rigging the election for certain candidates, then they had better stop rigging the election.

It’s no wonder why they don’t want Gabbard, a Hawaii congresswoman, on the stage. She is not afraid of her party leaders or her fellow candidates. She voted “present” rather than voting for impeachment. She decimated Kamala Harris in an early debate, and she has sued Hillary Clinton for claiming publicly that she is a Russian asset.

It probably doesn’t matter anymore because with Joe Biden’s resurgence, the nomination may be over soon. But the Dems had better hope their shenanigans did not piss off Gabbard enough to run as a Libertarian or Green candidate because if they lose 1 or 2 percent in November, they are all but ensuring a victory for President Trump.
