The left-wing media and the Democratic impeachment mob went crazy Friday when they found out that President Trump had fired Michael Atkinson, the insubordinate and none-too-smart inspector general for the Intelligence Community who green-lighted the Ukrainian impeachment hoax.
Atkinson got the report from the fake whistleblower Eric Ciaramella and released it to Adam “Shifty” Schiff and Congress even though it didn’t meet the criteria for an “urgent” matter involving wrongdoing in the Intelligence Community as required by law. As I wrote at the time:
Atkinson intentionally misread the plain language of the law controlling whistleblower complaints, which are only supposed to be used when the complaint is about someone in the “Intelligence Community.” Unless being spied upon makes you part of the Intelligence Community, then President Trump is not covered by this provision.
Atkinson also allowed the whistleblower to file his report even though he had no firsthand knowledge of the phone call between Trump and the President of Ukraine.
Of course, President Trump had no confidence in Atkinson, who also played a key role in the Justice Department when the Russia hoax was being hatched.
President Trump sent a letter to Schiff and Sen. Richard Burr, the chair of the Senate Intel Committee, explaining his decision:
“It is extremely important that we promote the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of Federal programs and activities. The Inspectors General have a critical role in the achievement of these goals. As is the case with regard to other positions where I, as President, have the power of appointment, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, it is vital that I have the fullest confidence in the appointees serving as Inspectors General. That is no longer the case with this Inspector General.”
Sweet and to the point. Of course, the president could have added that Atkinson is a back-stabbing mutinous liar, but there was no need to state the obvious.
The fact that Trump’s latest move was denounced by Schiff and other duplicitous Democrats tells you he did the right thing. Here’s a sampling from the AP:
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, D-Calif., who led the House impeachment inquiry, said “the president’s dead of night decision puts our country and national security at even greater risk.” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said the firing “threatens to have a chilling effect against all willing to speak truth to power.” And Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Trump “fires people for telling the truth.”
The truth is that Atkinson was part of a CIA-FBI-Justice Department plot against the duly elected president, and he finally got his just deserts.

The greatest risk for the country are the democrats. They are mostly anti-American, full of rage, want to take us to socialism, and dumber than the average bunny. RLS
Firing the despicable Intel inspector general, Michael Atkinson, was appropriate. He obviously had secret talks with the man who hates Trump, Adam Schiff, so if he blames anyone for getting him fired, it should be Schiff. As you said in your article, the right thing was done to remove this man from his inspector general job because (1) he showed extraordinarily bad judgment in allowing a second and third hand piece of gossip to be promoted as fact, (2) he trusted Adam Schiff’s judgment more than the president of the United States, and (3) the liberal media and the Democrats do not want him fired because they used him to “try” to diminish the President. Imagine how much better this country would have been without the daily yapping at the heels of the President? President Trump fired Michael Atkinson, and Rick Grenell should send Adam Schiff a letter by April 16th which lays out all of Schiff’s treasonous behaviors. The outcome proved that President Trump did not try to influence the president of Ukraine. Therefore, Schiff and Atkinson showed poor judgment. In so many ways. I will hope for Karma.
