It’s increasingly obvious that Fox News has sold its soul to the devil and is working overtime to try to exorcise President Trump from its airwaves.
The disgusting debate performance of Chris Wallace as presidential debate moderator was just the latest manifestation of a leftward turn in the once “fair and balanced” news channel that offered an alternative to Fake News.
You can add Wallace to the list that includes most of the weekend staff including Leland Vittert and Gillian Turner, “newsman” John Roberts, and the fortunately now-departed Shepard Smith.
The liberal turn at Fox may owe something to former failed Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, who has been using his position on the board of Fox News to try to distance the channel from President Trump.
Ryan may not realize it, but that means Fox would also be distancing itself from the 92 percent of the Republican Party that enthusiastically endorses President Trump as the best conservative president in history.
More likely, Ryan doesn’t care because he’s being paid either way — and RINO Ryan has long since proved himself to be an enemy of not just Trump but of conservatism. But Fox News had better not forget who made them the most successful news channel in America because we conservatives can turn off the channel and walk away any time. Indeed, many have already.
If the powers that be at Fox get their way and see Trump defeated by Joe Biden, it is my hope that Trump will either start his own news channel or join with an existing operation like OANN or Right Side Broadcasting to punish Fox for its increasingly liberal and fake approach to the news.
[Read my book “The Media Matrix” for more analysis of how the liberal media is warping political and social views in America.]
I imagine Trump could bring big name talent like Sean Hannity with him as well as create great new programming with such superstars as Kayleigh McEnany.
Let Fox News try to compete by giving nightly shows to Vittert and Paul Ryan. Let’s see how that goes.
Ryan was exposed last year as doing what we already knew — working quietly to move Fox further left. Vanity Fair reported then:
âPaul is embarrassed about Trump and now he has the power to do something about it,â an executive whoâs spoken with Ryan [said] … But a person more sympathetic to Trump has told Lachlan that Fox should remain loyal to Trumpâs supporters, even if the network has to break from the man. âWe need to represent our viewers,â the source said. âFox is about defending our viewers from the people who hate them. Thatâs where our power comes from. Itâs not about Trump.â
Well, actually, it IS about Trump — because Trump since becoming president has never betrayed conservatives, but Fox News has — over and over. So if Fox News wants a war, bring it on!
